Screening and aspiration, whilst simple processes, still have a very important place in all our cleaning operations. It is usually the first process that the goods are passed through because it is important to present subsequent, more sophisticated machinery such as colour sorters and X-ray machines with size and gravity graded material to maximise their efficiency.
We process a wide range of seed types here and therefore have a wide range of sieves; over 200 different sets, sizes are defined in increments of 0.1mm so we are able to be very precise with our sieving operations. Seeds are a natural product and therefore will vary in size due to a wide range of climatic and regional factors, we therefore only specify the sieves used for a given process run after carrying out extensive tests on a sample from the batch involved using laboratory test sieves. The use of different shaped perforations on the sieves allows us to take advantage of the shape of the seed type that we are processing to be more effective in removing foreign material.
